"My wife and I had the pleasure of having our wedding photographed by Chantal Benoit. Chantal and her husband were able to capture our most memorable wedding moments in such a way, so that we can look back at our photos in 25 years and be able to experience our special day all over again. Her professionalism and experience shows, not only in the final product, but in her dedication and passion for her craft. We felt like we’ve known Chantal for years, making the day stress free and simply enjoyable. We are extremely happy that we chose Chantal Benoit Photographer to shoot our wedding day and we would recommend her to anyone else planning a wedding.

Thank you for the wonderful memories."

Baby Raina - Ottawa Baby Photographer

Isn't she gorgeous!!!

Krista, Angelo and Mateo came to see me in September for pregnancy photos. They came back for a family photo and to capture baby Raina. She slept through the family shots but was wide awake and very alert for her photos. Raina looks like her big brother Mateo.

I thought this photo was just adorable had to post it on my blog.

This little piggy went to sleep

I met Martine and Hugo when I photograph the wedding of Martine's sister last year. We all had a blast and the photos were beautiful.

Martine and Hugo wanted me to capture their newborn baby daughter Peneloppe. She slept almost through the entire session so it gave me a chance to try some of my new props.

Thank you for allowing me to capture this time if your lives.

Ottawa Family Portraits

Dawn and Grant came to see me about 7 years ago to photograph their wedding. It was such a beautiful wedding day at St. Patrick's church on Fallowfield Road.

They came back to get some family portraits done for Christmas with their son Caleb and Gavin. I thought they were just adorable as everyone look so casual.

I look forward in photographing more of that family as the kids get older.

Ottawa Portrait Photographer

Back in November my cousin's daughter came to work with me for a career day with her school. I explained to her the pros and cons of being self employed, showed her how to do a studio portrait session and gave her some retouching tips.

While I had her in the studio I took some shots of her. This one is my favourite.

Ottawa Baby Photographer - Geneva

Jessica and Jeff came to see me in September to document their maternity. Now it was time to document their baby.
Little Geneva made my job very easy since she slept almost the entire session. When she woke up her eyes were sparkling I knew it would be worthwhile capturing.

This photo is one of them.

Ottawa Fall Wedding

I documented Jacynthe & Michel's wedding in October.

The ceremony was at St. Joseph in Orleans so we took advantage of the surroundings to photograph the family, bridal party and shots of the couple. The reception was held at the Greyhawk Golf Course. Since the colors were so nice I decided to take them on the course to a beautiful spot I usually work at. Oh boy! was the ride on the golf cart ever cold but worthwhile since I manage to take this photo.

Félicitations Jacynthe & Michel.

Ottawa Baby Photographer - Andrianne

Christine and Charles are the pround parents of Andrianne.

It was worth spending 2 hours with this family because the photos are awesome.

I'm looking foward in delivering their little brag book album so they can show all their friends and family.

Un gros merci Christine, Charles et Andrianne

Ottawa Children Portraits

Another repleat client!!!

Jacinthe and Jean Luc came to see me in 2004 while they were expecting little Emma-line. Since then I've had the opportunity to do their baby and family portraits.

At Halloween, I offered a special for children between 2 an 6 years so they came back with Emma-line. I couldn't believe how much she had grown since the last time I had seen her. It was fun to photograph the "Super Girl".

Thanks again for letting me create another great portrait.

Ottawa Family Portraits - Repeat customer

Sylvie and Eric came to see me in 2006 to capture the pregrancy of their first daughter Gabrielle.

Since then, they have been back for a second pregnancy for their daughter Veronique, baby and family photos. Next year I will have the opportunity to photograph their wedding.

I just love my repeat clients. It makes me feel appreciated.

Un gros merci pour tout!.

Ottawa Baby Photographer - Little Jacob

Little Jacob has arrived!!! What a bundle of joy. I'm so lucky to be able to capture these special times in people's lifes.
Kathryn and Kyle got Jacob's cute bear hat at a company called Etsy. I've checked it out and I ordered 4 of them for my future baby sessions.

Many thanks to the family Brush.

Ottawa Family Portraits

Val came to see me last year for a photography contract. She got my name through a wedding promotion I did with Kiss FM. We then became Golf buddies. Every Tuesday night I head out at the Thunderbird Golf Club or the Marches for a girl's night out.

Val came back this year to have family portraits done with her 2 beautiful children Cass and Jake. They are crazy, energetic and fun just like their mom!!! which made my job easy because they did anything I ask them to. You can tell by the montage that we all had a good time.

I'm sure glad to have done that promo because it brought me such a great friend.

Thanks Val for everything.

Fall Wedding

My husband and I had a fun and busy day on Saturday caputuring Kari and Sean's Wedding.

We started with Kari photos at her home with her parents and her wedding party and then headed out to the NAC to do the same for Sean. They had a very unique and personalized ceremony by Keith Langeville of Exceptional Ceremonies in Ottawa where Kari and Sean got to compose their own vows. WOW, amazing.

The rain stop and we manage to do some outdoor shots taking advantage of the downtown scenery and the fall colours.

By the end of the day I was exhausted but when I say the photos it was all worth it!!!

Thanks Kari and Sean for a great and inspiring day. I'm looking forward in showing you the rest of your photos.

Baby Marissa

In 2006 I documented Rola and Mark's wedding. We had a blast at Money's Baby.

Since then, Rola has been back for 2 maternity sessions and baby portraits.

I just love capturing the different stages in a couples life and I feel very blessed when I see a repeat client.
Thank you all for allowing me to create these lifetime memories for you and your family.

High School Seniors

Why settle for the same old boring school photo when you can have a fun, interesting one-of-a kind portrait that sparkles your personality.

You can bring some props, pets, sports...whatever- items that define who you are, what you do.

Why stick with bland. Make a statement!

Little Ethan

Jennifer and Michael where sent to me by another client to have their family portrait taken. Their blonde, blue eyed son, Ethan, is just a gorgeous little guy.
Capturing people's feet makes priceless memories and a moment captured forever.
Thank you for letting me document this time in your life. I look forward in delivering the final product.

I love my repeat clients

The fall is the best time for family photos.
In 2005 I photograph Carianne and John's wedding. Shortly after I photograph their new addition to the family and they came back again for family photos. It is so great to see my client's cycle of life.
Thanks again to the Pelletier/McMahon family.

October Wedding

What was suppose to be a rainy day turn out to be an awesome day.

Everyone looked gorgeous and did whatever I ask them too. This was one fun and inspiring wedding and I have the photos to prove it!! You can tell by the images that this couple are truly in love.

As I am writing this text Adele and Karsten are on their way to a taping of the Ellen Degeneress show. I'm so jealous!!

Congratulations Adele and Karsten and looking forward in showing you the rest of your wedding images.

Christmas Baby

Amelia and Corey came to see me in 2004 to photograph their wedding. I always feel special when clients come back to my studio. I'm starting to see more and more clients coming back for maternity, babies, family portraits and even boudoir.

It was Amelia's idea to add the ribbon to the photo since little Colby will almost be a Christmas baby. Sometimes the best images are the ones the subject are not looking at the camera!

Thanks Amelia and Corey.

September Wedding

I photograph Lindsay and Matt's wedding on September 12. We were already familiar with each other since 4 years ago I photographed the wedding of Lindsay's brother.

The energy from this wedding is still flowing as I'm writing this text. The excitement did not stop from the bride's house up until the park. Lindsay and Matt's photos were taken at the Theatre de l'Ile in Hull with a beautiful scenery and natural lighting. I felt like the energyzer bunny, I could of kept on and on all day.

Thank you Linday and Matt, it was a pleasure and I'm looking forward in showing you the rest of your photos.

Ou la la!

Brigitte came to see me for a boudoir photo session. This is my favourite part of photography as I get to capture a women's beauty, shape and form in many different ways by setting just the right mood.

When I met Brigitte at the consultation, I thought she was gorgeous, sexy and couldn't wait to photograph her. As the session progress, Brigitte became more confortable and confident making my job very easy. The photos are stunning.

Merci Brigitte pour ta confiance.

Here is was Brigitte had to say about the session:

"I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed being a model for 2 hours on Saturday!! a dream in mini version come thru for me!! I can't wait to see the album now. Thanks
for all your hard work and making this happen for me!!"

Christine and Charles

The people who have a link to my Facebook page are familiar with the Photos of the Week section! Every week I posted different photos. The blog is now replacing this section.

Christine and Charles were sent to me by 2 referals. I feel extra special!!! Just like their friends they were pleasant to work with. Photographing a pregnant woment is very gratifying as I am able to capture that glow!!!

I had posted 2 of their images on my Facebook page. Here is what they had to say:

"Thank you Chantal for putting up a few of the pictures. They are absolutely stunning, you were so easy to work with and we couldn't believe how fast it was. Thank you again, these are precious souvenirs that we will cherish for a very long time. Christine & Charles"

Christine and Charles, thank you for the testimonials and I look forward to capturing more images of you and your baby girl in the coming weeks.

Wedding a Loch March Golf Course

Cathy and Blair were sent to me by a referall. I feel special when I get a referal!!!

Photographing this wedding was fun and very peaceful as nothing could stress this couple. They listened and went along with whatever I wanted to do. It's always nice when the couples are open to anything because I am able to squeeze in some fun shots for them to remember of the good time they had.

Congratulations Cathy and Blair, looking forwad in showing you the rest of your images!

Hot Tamale

I met Christine 10 years ago in a clothing store I worked in when I was in High School. I thought she was gorgeous and approached her to see if she would be interested in modeling for me. She said yes without hesitating. Since then she's been the model I've used everytime a crazy idea goes through my head. I know I can alway count on her to be available and open minded. While working on a project she mentioned that her dad had a Harley Davidson so I began to put some thoughts together. It was definately a project I wanted to do with her.

For the past 10 years I've seen Christine transform from a young shy women to a beautiful bride, to a mom. Needless to say by looking at the photo she is a sexy mommy!!!
If you've read this far, Congratulations. I would like to mention that during my spare time (when I have some!!!) I like to work a new projects such as this one to test my creativity. If you have an idea and willing to volunteer drop me a line. You never know your idea could become my inspiration.

It's a secret ....

The Menard family came to see me last summer for family portraits. Mireille and JP decided to hire me for their wedding on July 18, 2009. What started out as a beautiful sunny day at the Monterey Inn, turned into pourring rain. JP's father works at the NAC and was able to make arrangements for us to do the photos inside. Luckily the rain stop and I managed to create some outstanding images and document another memorable wedding.

Merci Mireille et JP pour un journee très plaisante.

Memorable birthday

So I turned the big 40 on August 8 and spent the day working. A boudoir in the morning and a wedding in the afternoon. Allot of people thought I was crazy and thought I should of been out celebrating. But I was celebrating!!! Celebrating the beginning of Michelle and Micheal's life together. It is obvious that the love between these two is very geniune. I could of snap photos forever.

Thanks Michelle and Micheal for making my 40th memorable!!!!

Michelle & Abby

Michelle came to see me this winter because she needed a portfolio. We got to talking and I found out that she has 5 horses.
During my spare time (when I have some) I like to do projects that permit me to step out of my box and test my creativity so I offered to go photograph Michelle during the summer with one of her horses.
WOW!!! is all I can say. It was the first time I worked with a horse and I sure learned allot. Did you know that when their ears are straight up it means that the horse is happy.

I tell ya standing next to the horse, I sure felt like a peanut!!
Thanks Michelle and Caroline for inviting me to your home and allowing me to do this project.

Who let the dogs out!!!

My husband and I visited some good friends of ours, Stephanie and Paul, in Kingston at the end of August. We get together a couple times of year to eat, dring and laugh and of course shop!!!

I had purchased some new flash equipment to do some cool shots so I had told them that they had to model for me or else!!! Unfortunately the equipment didn't work like I want to so I have to go back and see my sellsman to find out which button I forgot to press.

Since I had them all pump up and my camera was out I took some shots of them anyway.

Thanks guys for the fun weekend and for being co-operative models.

First of the season

I had the pleasure of starting my wedding season in the rain. But you know what they say, a rainy wedding is a happy wedding. Well Annie and Mario will have a long life of happiness because it poured rain most of the day. The rain stop for about 1 hour and half after the ceremony so we were able to capture some awesome outdoor shots.
Un gros merci Annie & Mario pour un début de saison très inspirant!!
